Oppo's Wii U owners - learn me some stuff

With the latest generation of consoles, I decided to get an Xbox One over the PlayStation and the Wii U. Now I want a Wii U, but I’ve been hearing it hasn’t been doing so well, at least compared to the original Wii.

I’ve watched reviews, and I’m kind of torn. On one hand, I like Mario games. On the other hand, I only like Mario games. I’m not interested in Pokemon, Zelda, or any of the other Nintendo exclusives, though that hasn’t stopped me with past Nintendo systems. (Is there a good library of Mario games right now?)

Halp me, Spock. Should I get one?

There wont be many new releases from now on with the poor performance and a new console on the way. If its cheap enough and you love mario enough then sure, just see it for what it is and dont expect much more.

I’ve been hearing about the NX and it sounds promising. But that won’t be for at least another year or so.

A friend of mine got one off Gumtree for £80, Played Smash bros a couple of times and then left it at work where it still is to this day. Considering how big of a Nintendo fan he is, I’m gonna say that the Wii U isn’t worth it. I say wait for the NX to see if it is note worthy and at the very least will push Wii U prices down.

Kids love it. But we mostly use it for Netflix these days. Mario kart 8 is tons of fun, particularly if you have others to play with. Other than that I’m not a big fan of the U specific Mario games, though my wife really enjoys them. I liked the now old “new super mario bros wii” the best.

The WiiU is more of an entertainment system than a game system. If you have kids it’s a no brainer. If you like having a small tablet remote to control all your media browsing (Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime) it’s a good idea. If you just wanna play games and you don’t have kids.... do you like smash brothers?

I own the Wiiu, 3DS, Vita, PS4, XB1. Out of those I enjoy the 3ds and WiiU the most. My Vita is used only for PS1 games and the odd jrpg now and again. The ps4 and xb1 have pretty much the same games and are really about the same in my opinion. Great graphics on both of course. The 3ds has a wide range of RPG’s I enjoy and some really good indi games. Mostly though the 3DS is for Monster Hunter. The WiiU is under appreciated by so many and usually receives negative comments by people who don’t have one or know a “friend” who had one. Right off the top I have Xenoblade Chronicles X, ZombieU, Starfox 0, Darksiders 2 (waiting on DS1 later this year or next, Bayonetta2/1, Smash Bro’s, Mario Kart, Pokken, Monster Hunter 3ultimate, Tokyo Mirage Session #fe, Hyrule warriors, a couple of the Batman Arkham games, several of the lego games and many E-shop games I’m just too lazy to list right now but includes indies and virtual console games. So as far as games and content there is a huge selection and many of them are rated with very high scores on gaming sites and in poles. Thou its graphical power is less most games still look great and many times if a game is on the WiiU as well as other systems I choose to get the WiiU version due to the Gamepad. Having an inventory right there in front of you as opposed to having to switch screens is very helpful, especially in games like ZombieU and most Rpg's. Yes the NX is suppose to be out next year but remember... WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS. And missing out on some of the WiiU exclusives just because "you hear" it's not doing well is a real shame.

Single player on Wii U = snoozefest (except ZombiU, that game is AWESOME)

Multi player on Wii U = MOST FUN YOU’LL EVER HAVE CLOTHED.

Don’t bother. The successor the NX is supposed to be coming out next year. You won’t be getting any new titles on the Wii U.
